Deconstructionism

There is a movement afoot in Western culture among Believers that is called, "Deconstruction".  Its basic premise is to sow DOUBT in young people’s hearts about their faith in Jesus Christ.

There are certainly questions that need to be asked and answered by every believer, legitimate questions. And certainly, we the leaders of the church could do a better job, there’s no doubt. However, the motive behind deconstructionism is the same as it has always been, and that is to separate people from a relationship with their Creator.

This is just a new name for an old movement. Be aware of treating doubt as a virtue or skepticism as a righteous precept. Instead hunger for truth. As a pastor and as a church we are responsible to answer the questions of this generation and we take that responsibility to heart.

Here’s our response to this generation:

~Ask the hard questions.

~Seek the truth.

~Find the answers.

Christianity can withstand your scrutiny.

Don't abandon your faith to a wicked culture that doesn't care about you.

Jesus and the Church cares:

~I love you.

~We care about you.

~You matter.

~Your pain matters.

~Your struggles matter.

~Your life is sacred and dear to God.

~He has a future for you, plans and hopes and dreams for you, and blessings for you.

“Deconstruction” is the heading most recently applied to the process of questioning, doubting, and ultimately rejecting aspects of Christian faith. This is an application of deconstructionism , an approach that claims to disassemble beliefs or ideas while assuming their meanings are inherently subjective.
