During the last nine months this message series has been hanging heavy on my heart. I don’t think you can overstate how important the book of Genesis is to the whole gospel of Jesus. If Genesis is not true then everything else in the Bible is called into question.
Of course I believe every word in Genesis is inspired by God and is the only first hand account of creation that we have. For you see, the Creator was the only one there when it happened and there were no other eyewitnesses, so He wrote this account so we would know.
Every Sunday for the entire month of January we will be digging into the claims of Genesis and defending God’s word from the very first verse.

One of the first claims in Genesis is that humans are made of dust. That would be easy to verify with modern science so let’s look at that claim:
Genesis 2:7 NKJV
7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
A BOLD PRECISE CLAIM:
The Creator made humans out of DUST!
What is dirt made of chemically?
Soil organic matter is composed chiefly of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen and smaller quantities of sulfur and other elements..
What is the human body made of?
Almost 99% of the mass of the human body is made up of six elements: oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, calcium, and phosphorus. Only about 0.85% is composed of another five elements: potassium, sulfur, sodium, chlorine, and magnesium.
All 11 of these elements are NECESSARY for life.
How could Moses who is the credited author of Genesis have known such precise information about soil and the human body unless he was inspired by the Creator Himself?
