FAMILY FUN in the 1970’s before the Internet was invented!
These are some of the things that our family did for entertainment in the 1970’s.
1. An Entertainment Center.
This floor model piece of furniture contained a TV, Radio and a Record Player. It was like a smart phone that you moved with a forklift.
2. Electric Football Game.
This flat board in the shape of a football field, vibrated the miniature players up and down the field.
3. Twister
A family game where you get all tangled up together. A bit awkward.
4. Vinyl Album
Pops, Clicks & White Noise.
5. Croquet Game
Golf for losers.
6. TV Dinners
2 pounds of processed food that has led to a national obesity epidemic.
7. Ice Cold Coca Cola
Long before Coke went woke.
8. Jack’s Cookies
Unwrapped cookies delivered fresh from the bakery to the local gas station. 1c each.
9. Rotary Phones
We shared a 4 party line with our neighbors down the road. It made eavesdropping very convenient.
10.Station Wagon Road Trips
The vehicle that preceded the mini vans and featured a rear facing seat usually reserved for the younger members of the family.
